Document Summary

Sclera white of the eye (transparent in the front of the eye (the cornea)) that coats the outside and provides a rubbery protective layer. Lens bends light to converge to a single point in the back of the retina to produce vision. Rods convergence gives greater sensitivity; lets us see b&w, but not as speci c; less acuity found in greater density in peripheral portions of the eye; needs less light than cones to be activated. Cones color and greater acuity - gives attention to detail; lets us see color; found in greater density in the center portion of the eye; need more light than rods to be activated. Photic energy a very small part of the electro magnetic spectrum that produces visible light. Any color produced by any part of the spectrum could be reproduced by joining two other parts of the spectrum. Three kinds of cones, each sensitive to speci c part of the spectrum.
