Document Summary

Euthyphro: on pages 8 and 10 (5d and 6d [see footnotes too]) socrates asks. Euthyphro about the form and/or characteristic that all examples of piety have. No, i do not believe that all examples of piety share the common characteristic. Or is it pious because it"s loved? in brief, what point is he making? (there is no need to get into the details of socrates" argument. Just write down the general meaning as you understand it. ) I think he is trying to say, that it does not matter what kind of person you are or will be in future. God will always love you and will love you in the future. The essence or nature of something"s being pious that it is loved by all the gods. This means that all there is to being pious is being loved by all the gods. If anything is loved by all the gods, then it is pious.
