They wear makeup and do their hair and yet they scold people for having sex. The second have of the book moves from black and white to color. Right when the mom passed out on the plane. Maybe the play isn"t changed but the way people observe things (trying to be westernized) Barely has any personal freedom (especially for being a woman) What they were supposed to do in order for them to live together. She didn"t really realize it until after the fact. She changes for this man and doesn"t realize she is doing it until it"s too late. Possibly due to her failed love life. Wanted to fix herself to be the perfect person. They may not have gotten married and rushed it if it wasn"t a standard of society. Loves the ideas of these guys and being with someone rather than being in love with this person.
