Definitions
Race generally refers to the genetic makeup of a person
Ethnicity refers to unique social and cultural heritage that is passed on
Traditional forms of recreation based on the assumption that general public is

Justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges
within a society
The fair and proper administration of laws conforming to the natural law that all
persons, irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, possessions, race, religion,
ect., are to be to be treated equally and without prejudice
The distribution of advantages and disadvantages within a society
Definition and terms in social justice issues
Marginality: Being on the margins (outsides/fringes) of the dominant
culture; self-segregation occurs as a result
Ethnicity: A social construction indicating common cultural, ancestral,
and language traits
Feminism: The belief in establishing equal opportunities for women
with regard to political, social, and economic rights
Pluralism: A form of society in which minority groups maintain their
independent cultural traditions
Diversity: Celebrating differences in people
Inclusion: Valuing all people regardless of their differences
Leisure: A right or privilege?
When looking at leisure and social justice, the question is, do we all have a
right to leisure, or is it something that is earned?
