Hypothesis- the suggestion, possibility, projection or prediction, but the result is uncertan. It is testable, it is falsifiable, it is not well-substantiated, itis not well tested, data is usually very limited. It is used to present an uncertain possibility that can be explored further through experiments and observations. Theory- shows evidence, verification, repeated testing, wide scientific consensus. It is testable, it is falsifiable, it is well substantiated, it is well tested, data is based on a wide set of data tested under various circumstances. It is used to explain why a large set of observations are consistently made. The theory of evolution by natural selection.
