Document Summary

1979- graduate students were asked have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them? . 13% had goals but they weren"t in writing. 1989- the same group was interviewed again. The 13% that had goals but did not write them down was earning twice the amount of the 84% who had no goals. The 3% who had written goals were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97% of the class combined! Write your goals down to make the measurable. Set benchmarks for success and adapt accordingly. S = specific goals cannot be vague or too general. Try to be specific as to what you want. Be able to summarize your goal and what you are trying to do. You must be able to measure your progress towards reaching your goal. Having a timeline helps monitor your actions, especially if you tend to procrastinate or get distracted.
