Poli sci: political philosophy- principled social critique. Creative ways of illuminating contemporary events with reflections drawn from historical moments. Curiosity which enables one to get free of oneself. Understanding the dynamics of stability and change in a chaotic world it ask how do things become stabile or come together into control and where the opportunities for change. Political theory on position as a disciple: within political science but often considered humanities instead of social science, 2. Types of knowledge: idiographic- writing about phenomenal in a way that emphasize their singular unique subjective and historical specific qualities used to characterize the humanities. Subjective not matter of opinion but matter of fact (experience by a subject or group through the viewpoint of their experience. Rather how phenomena appear as an object of the world as something encountered by multiple subjects: maciavelli- letter to francisco vettori- lost his job as a diplomat and was exiled.
