In u. s. adult obesity has more than doubled over the last 40 years. Fat is an ideal form of stored energy. Once we become fat, we require less food to maintain our weight than we did to atain it. A formerly obese person who lost weight will have to eat less than the average person just to prevent weight gain. Weight discriminaion is stronger than race and gender discriminaion. People who are obese are more likely to be depressed or isolated. Idenical twins (even when raised apart) are more similar than fraternal twins. Many genes involved burning calories, convering calories to fat, when intesines send full signal, how much to idget, etc. Sexual arousal depends on the interplay of internal and external simuli. Sexual desire and response is not as ied to hormone levels in humans as it is in animals. Increase in sexual arousal increase in testosterone. During ovulaion, women show a rise in estrogen and testosterone.
