Anorexia nervosa: refusal to maintain a minimally normal body weight. They have an intense fear of being fat: self-starvation to the extreme. This often results in amenorrhea (loss of meanstruation: disturbed perception of body weight and shape. Anorexia nervosa usually affects women but 10% of cases affect men. There are 2 types of anorexia nervosa: restricting type: restrict calorie intake, binge eating/purging type: regularly engages in binge eating o purging behaviours.
