Balancing the need for good cops to get promoted and yet still be given special assignments. Many states mandate continuing education to make sure officers maintain their skills. Officer shows deficiencies in the performance of their duties. Actions demonstrate poor judgment or lack of knowledge about procedures and the law. Officer fails to re-certify on their weapons.
