Being aware of how you communicate at work. The first principle that guides the communication and leadership skills in the workplace is to become aware of your communication with yourself and others. Process functions are the behaviors that allow leaders to have harmonious productive relationships with their subordinates. The three styles are authoritarian, democratic, and lazier-fair. Authoritarians influence by giving orders and controlling others. Democratic leaders influence by consulting others and forming a dialogue and. Laissez-faire leaders take a hands-off approach, it implies non-interference and sometimes even voting allows the subordinates to take control of their own destinies. The transformational leadership approach leaders should adapt to each situation and lead accordingly. This views leadership as an interactive and ever-changing process and good.
