Document Summary

Europe is relatively the same size as europe and although the u. s. is growing and catching up, Europe still has a larger population that the u. s. Europe has some states which are very blended in terms of culture (i. e. germany) whereas other nations are very homogenous and have policies that have and will attempt to keep it that way (i. e. poland and other eastern states) Europe is split into roman catholicism (france, spain, portugal), eastern orthodoxy (ukrainian orthodoxy, russian, romanian- eastern block), protestantism (uk, scandanavia), Nation states which are multi ethnic are under conflict many times and each separation of ethnicity wants to be their own nation state. A nation state occurs when the homeland of a nation coincides with the territory of a particular state (japan- no immigration to remain homogenous) A state is not necessarily a nation, and a nation is not necessarily a state.
