Schizophrenia: positive symptoms (extra or excessive compared to normal people) A belief most members of society would say is a misrepresentations of reality. Sensory experience in absence of environmental stimuli. Meta-cognition theory hallucinations are intrusive thoughts that the person thinks is coming from somewhere else. Broca"s (speech) area active during auditory hallucinations, Poor emotional prosody comprehension they have. Not wernicke"s (hearing) trouble conveying emotional things nonverbally (through tone of voice, volume, etc. ) Exaggerations, excesses, or distortions of normal behavior. Disorganized speech: cognitive slippage in verbal content also known as tangentiality/loose associations/derailment/thought disorder, makes little-no sense. Disorganized symptoms may come from cognitive deficits: attention deficits, working memory deficit, executive function deficits. These deficits are often stable over time.
