Laius protected (pelops palace in elis: elis is the city attached to olympia, pelop rules in elis. Imprecation uttered by pelop: curses are effective and the gods listen to you when you are in distress, as pelop is when his son is kidnapped. Laius marries jocasta: baby making is unsuccessful. They have the baby and it"s a boy, but they don"t name him. Exposure: you expose your children if you don"t want them, expose them to the elements. Cithaeron: they bring their child up to the mountain, they drive a stake into the ankle of the baby.
