Vietnam war the cia gave army experimental drugs to make them more aggressive. When the soldiers were given the drugs came back they were not told they were given the drugs and had flashbacks. Exam question :describe and ethical study and list what unethical thing they did. You were either an inmate or guards. Guards would work 8 hour shift: they had become terrible in 2 week- time and started abusing their classmates who had committed. The study involved 600 black men -399 with syphilis, 201 who did not have the disease. They would go to the health department and they would tell them that they were fine. The government then studied them for 40 years and then published the results of the study. Stanley milgram"s (1963, 65) obedience to authority studies. After the war was over they asked people that worked in the death camps why they did and they said they were just following orders.
