Dense human population and industrialization generate problems. Bangladesh illustrates link between population pressure and environmental issues. Heavily populated delta is subject to flooding. Flooding is region connected to deforestation in uplands. Tropical monsoon forest, savanna woodlands have vanished. Issues surround fuel wood, and planting of eucalyptus trees. Monsoon is seasonal change of wind direction. Winter monsoon results in cold, dry winds flowing outward from continental interior. Summer monsoon results in wet, hot winds flowing inward from indian. Orographic rainfall results in extremely wet areas. India signed kyoto protocol, but does not have to follow main provisions. Rising sea level threatens ganges-brahmaputra delta and maldives. Sparsely populated due to rugged, high terrain. Population core of pakistan, india, & bangladesh. Peninsular india: indus irrigated in pakistan, ganges prives fertile soil in india, brahmaputra is central to bangladesh"s delta.
