Guards lock down the place so there are no riots. They can"t leave because they have nowhere else to go. Poverty is a function of choice they don"t have one. More workers = more productivity = higher rages: in these cases not true, they cut the wages because they can. Whenever we see the use of power, we know its not natural. Activities once in particular states are now all over the place. Labor of one kind co-exists with other kinds. Gendered men assigned to different jobs than women: changed overtime due to social and economic changes. Adam smith: division of labor increases productivity, then increases profits, hires workers, etc. Taylorism: not building the whole car, just putting on the wheel, someone else will do the tires, etc, how to increase production through the division of labor, scientific break down profits into individual tasks. Technology allows for different operations in different locations.
