Doesn"t ignore individuals understand actions but must know social context. Broad discipline that covers many different areas. Enhance understanding and appreciation of the complexity of social life. Identify and examine sociologically relevant problems and issues. See life and experience through sociological perspective. Understand the ways human action is facilitated and constrained by larger social forces. Must understand an individual life within context of the history of a society.
