The tottenham hotspur football club was founded in 1882. It became publicly owned in 1983 and was the first football club to do so in england. The club currently operates out of an old stadium named white hart lane that only hold 36,000 spectators. Daniel levy, the 2008 chairman of tottenham, believed that they had the opportunity to create a new stadium based off of their finances. Levy also believed that the success of tottenham depended on his understanding of the dynamics of football and the club"s resilience to financial hiccups. He wanted to focus on three pillars that he believed would allow tottenham to grow and achieve long-term success. One of the pillars discussed the development of a new stadium. By creating a new asset, he believed players would have more motivation to practice more and that it would be a worthy investment.
