CMSC 100 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Tim Berners-Lee, Cern
Document Summary
Hyper-text markup language or html is the standard markup language for creating web pages and applications. With html and later css and javascript, you can create a fully functional website on the world wide web. Before we begin, we ought to talk about where all of this began. The world wide web began at a conference for particle physics at cern in 1989. Lee invented html as a way to aggregate information. He came up with html as a further development for a markup language he was already using at home. Your document must have a title: is the start of the visible content on a web page, is a large heading, means the start of a paragraph.
