When self help is used: necessity it great, necessity exists right now, for prevention only to prevent you from being hurt (takes out retaliation) Four primary elements to self defense: unprovoked attack, imminent danger (necessity) Danger is immediate, it is right now-not tomorrow or days away: proportionality. No excessive force, reasonable in actions: reasonable belief that it is absolutely necessary to use deadly force. Excuses defense: under the circumstances they are not responsible for their actions, i. e infancy, insanity. Alibi defense: can"t be held responsible for a crime bc it was an impossibility to commit the crime bc they were not there.
