The whole premise of rousseau"s concept of political nature is compassion. The most fundamental response to anything is compassion. The notion of the bloody savage disappears, and is replaced with the concept of the noble savage. First one to bring community into political discourse. People coming together to form primal communities created the languages of connection, taking into account the utility of the other person. The whole notion of another person in terms of what they can do for us starts with. The instrumental character of friendship is their use and worth to you; how they can help us. A main function of a state based on property and power. In a community, this relationship does not exist; people are just allowed to exist. The innate possibility of the human spirit is trampled by fences that we build around our property. Technology also helps to destroy the spirit and compassion.
