Death rate 25% due to no food. Had to work to find food: due to no food they couldn"t focus on other parts of society, time consuming and hard. After tools hunting was easier, but this was not food producing. Nomadic lifestyle: moving around for food. Examination of things left in the ground and found through excavation. Only way to find out about the past before writing. Earliest humans were scavengers: campsites contained berries, fish, birds. Made tools consciously due to the fact that we are weak: hand axe, knife, spear. Sharpening rocks: no claws, slow, etc, got hunted by animals before the tools. Now they had food due to being able to kill animals for meat: humans have bigger brains, and we got bigger brains over time. Due to natural selection humans got smarter. Domesticated dogs: first found in france, dogs protected little children and helped hunt. Earth cools down and heats up: this produces ice age.
