Questions (prepared for videoconference: in one of our textbooks, the author (barfield) seems heavily biased against karzai. Before afghans had lots of expectations because of the bad situation. Hamid karzai transitional government bonn agreement, security expectations, improvements economically, expected more from security. Had lots of opportunities for development, losing support right now. Taliban, jihadists, killing torturing: after united states came they had a chance to express their opinions, better for women; they can talk, go outside. Getting better for women, need more freedom of expression and need the women to get involved with government/parliament. People feel responsible for their country; going to stay and build country. Not enough jobs here, so not many options. People leave because of security (job security too) Some would go abroad so they could serve their own country better. Security is the main root peace, education.
