Document Summary

Although we are born with the neural structures which facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skill, with the exception of elementary reflexes, infants are born without repertoires of behavior -bandura (1977) Complex human behaviors acquired over time and development are the result of experience and observation. Except for innate reflexes, we learn them. Learning: a relatively permanent change in the capability to perform a skill. If skill is not kept for a long period of time, it is considered not to be learned: they must be permanent. Capability learning will not always result in positive performance of that skill, but will have a higher probability of performing that skill properly. Learning cannot be directly measured it is inferred from performance. Performance: observable behavior, temporary reflects performance at one specific moment in time, not necessarily a result of practice can be impacted by any performance variable, influenced by performance variables (i. e. , fatigue, alertness, attention)
