Explan how the diversity of life forms arises and the character of this diversity of life forms. 1. there is competition between similar life forms in the same location: natural selection will favor competitive ability. 3. forms that have greated competitive ability than similar forms will tend to outnumber their competitors. 4. they will grow and spread and displace occupants of nearby niches: as they spread and displace they will undergo new selection pressures that will adapt them to their new niche. 6. the result is that the descendents of these successful occupiers will diverge in form from their ancestors.
