Evolution foraging behavior: foraging = obtaining food. Found it is linked to a gene (for gene) If you have rover allele, you go find food much farther. If you have sitter allele, don"t forage very far: a master regulatory gene can control many behaviors, variation in activity/amount of gene product can have large effect on behavior. Genetics of risk taking: drd4 dopamine receptor gene. Defects seen w/ parkinson"s, addictive behaviors, eating disorders. Behavior enhances survival and reproductive success in a population. Orange = aggressor (beats blue: tries to bully way in and sneakers sneak in. Blue = guarder (beats yellow: team up to protect females from sneakers. Yellow = sneaker (beats orange: tries to sneak in and get with female. Game of rock, paper, scissors: game theory from econ (actions based on what others do) Fitness in lizards depends on how many other types (colors) there are. Cooperation: termites = only 1 can reproduce.
