Wealthier the person, the larger the carbon footprint. We want high development and low impact on earth. Carrying capacity- more people more infrastructure- schools, trash, resources more money to live here taxes etc. Population= births deaths emigration + immigration. Florida keys super expensive because they do not have their own infrastructure systems- no landfills, water has to be sent down. Smaller islands can support more people if they"re connected to larger land masses- supply resources etc. More people can fit on the same island area id they consume less resources. Land fills- led to recycling- entomb trash- very expensive and slowly decompose but have to take care of forever. No development on an island = nutrient and water cycles are highly seasonal and variable from year to year. Atlantis- 12 million gallons per day for one island. Carbon cycle: cycles between atmosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere, [ch2o]n, co2 fossil fuels starches/sugars.
