Parvoviruses: naked icosahedral capsid, smallest of dna viruses, ss dna (some are + and some are -, require growing cells b/c they have nothing inside of them. If no growing cell, can replicate with a helper virus (dependovirus) or b19: cannot induce resting cells to enter s phase (need growing viruses, virions assemble in nucleus of host cell, b19 fifth disease. Was the 5th of the childhood rashes (rubella, measles and the other 2 and this) Rash in cheeks looks like a slap look and doesn"t last very long. May infect fetus and kill it but no malformations (rubella causes this) Human papillomaviruses and polyomaviruses and their diseases: papillomavirus makes warts, polyomavirus has bk virus (renal disease) and jc virus, properties.
