Secular purpose, not an endorsement of a particular religion. Looking at two different displays by the same county, explaining why one display is constitutional and the other is not clause. Display 1: major religious scene, with a sign that says glory to god for the birth of. Jesus christ located in a prominent area inside a courthouse with grand staircase. Display 2: outside of a building, christmas tree and hanukkah menorah and sign read. Ten commandments display in each classroom in a public school building. Ruled unconstitutional, same thing they say in school prayer cases. Children legally forced to go to school, captive in school . Display in classroom, have to look at all the time. Children are immature and formidable (youth), easily influenced by teachers, outside influences, authority figures.
