Political liberty: thou shall nots for government. 1st amendment rights political equality: all citizens have an equal say, everyone is treated the same (14th amendment) equal protection. Voter turnout voter turnout has gone down significantly since 1900: turnout goes up with age. 41% of people not interested in politics incumbents more likely to be reelected.
