Teddy roosevelt and evolution of the teddy bear - But his people came across a black bear cub, so they tied up the cub and told teddy to shoot it and he was like no, its too small and defenseless. Public liked his empathetic response and it also evolved from a more realistic like bear into a cute big eyed, big head, shorter snout, big tummy stuffed animal.
