The gods are just like humans, only more so. They have bodies and can be physically challenged. They lie, cheat, steal, inflict and suffer pain, feel emotions such as jealousy, regret and joy. The only human thing they do not do is die. Slipper slapper--pan puts moves on aphrodite and she doesn"t like it so she slaps him with her shoe. Artemis and actaeon--actaeon was chasing prey and accidentally stumbled upon her bathing naked in a stream and artemis turned him into a stag and his own hunting dogs attacked and killed him (bad things happen to good people) Apollo to a contest, apollo wins and he has marsyas skinned alive. Pretty similar to the 7 deadly sins. The gods usually have visual symbols associated with them. Hermes (winged sandals, caduceus--wand thing w two snakes around it) Some beings are immortal but not as powerful as gods, or are limited in their activities.
