Improved birth control: reduced the number of children born to the typical family. Fall in men"s labor-force participation: more men out of the labor force. Full-time students: young men stay in school longer. Larger percentage of the adult population consists of retirees: older men retire earlier and live longer. Stay-at-home dads: more fathers now stay at home to raise their children.
