Has some chemical digestion- salivary glands can break down starch and carbs. Gi tract organ that connects mouth and stomach. Mucus- in stomach, not in gi tract so throat burns with vomit. Chyme- paste. mix of chewed food with saliva, hcl, some mucus. Carbs are easily and quickly digested and absorbed. Having good bacteria in large intestine makes for a good immune system. Gallbladder squirts bile into small intestine to digest fat. Balance of fiber and water keeps things healthy. Symptoms- acid reflux, nausea, gagging, chronic, dry, cough, and hoarse voice.
