Objections against workers have to moral right to have better working conditions 1) works consent to conditions 2) additional labor options actually harm workers 3) sweatshop labor is wrongfully exploitative. There is a strong moral reason for third parties such as consumers and host and home country governments to refrain from acting in ways which are likely to deprive sweatshop workers of their jobs. An agents choice or consent is transformative bc it alters normative relations. Two ways choice is transformative 1. if it is an exercise of an agent s autonomy 2. preference- evincing. By expressing preferences, choices transform moral landscape. Sweatshop labor shows that she prefers that kind of labor to any other alternative. Sweatshop labor might not be the kind of thing for which she has any intrinsic desire. But when all things are considered, she prefers working there to anything else she might do.
