Terrorism catastrophizing scale (tcs): measures degree to which people catastrophize when thinking about terrorism. 3 subscales of tcs: magnification: amplifying perceived risk of something negative happening, rumination: perseverating, dwelling on that risk, helplessness: no sense of control over that risk uses of tcs scores, allows assessment of ongoing, general fears of terrorism. Standardized measure we can compare samples to each other: evidence that terrorism-related fears often do not return to pre-attack levels.
