Cps works together with the police: cps tries to protect children and maintain and stabilize families, the police are trying to arrest and prosecute parents. Juvenile court become involved usually when cps decide to remove the child: 93% of cases in pima county are referred by cps. Removing the child from the home: can only be removed. Detention hearing: within 24 hours the case must be before a judge for a detention hearing to decide whether the there is sufficient evidence to hold the child.
