Non-profit theatre: goes back to them instead of paying off investors, rely heavily on donations/volunteers. No investors pays cost for other productions that that company puts on. Government donors set up to provide grants to theatre. Currently 3 broadway theatres: manhattan theatre club, lincoln center theatre, roundabout theatre company. Literary director read all play submitted, sit in on rehearsals. Education director outreach to schools, community, senior citizens, etc: hire people, payroll, legal business. Managing director in charge of all business part of theatre. Front of house box office, ushers, concessions, etc. Scenic artists paint scenery, finishing details, make sure scenery moves. Props master finds props, matches roll of play.
