This happened because they had calcium carbonate skeletons, with the ocean being more acidic the began to die off. Bio-diversity- discussed as we are losing biodiversity on the planet currently, includes ego systems, not quite the same as species diversity because it includes ego systems. Pelagic- lives on the bottom of a surface. Benthic- can live either in or on habitat can be mobile or can be stationary.
