The file wrapper is the extension or the file type. It contains the file and tells the computer which program will open it. Codec is the compression on the file. It is how the file information is compressed or encoded. Intra frame codecs-compresses each individual frame, better for editing. Effect palette-pane in bin container window where all effects are located. Effect editor-a new window showing settings of selected applied effects. Effect preview monitor-new monitor in composer allowing you to view. Transition effects-creates a transition (dissolve/wipe) between two clips and segments. Segment effects(filters)-applies a filter to a clip like a stabilize, blur, or color segment effect. Motion effects (retiming)-changes speed of the clip. Blue square-not a real time effect, have to render to see how they apply. Transition manipulation tool (next to trim tool) Viewed by clicking on step in button (down arrow)-allowing you to look at one video at a time.
