Big fleets of merchant vessels accompanied by naval vessels, which often times were just merchant vessels with guns. Only could sail during certain times of the year, which antagonized local people with limitations. Important secondary cities where spaniards lived popped up along trade routes, such as quer taro and arequipa. Lots of wealth generated from being a supply line for over- land commerce. Local merchants in each cities, that sold goods manufactured nearby. Pari n building contained luxury shops, selling imported high end goods.
