Roman empire: brain is where behavior underlies, galen. 1859 ad: the origin of species; behavior (positive behavior) is the evolutionary pass-down. 1949 ad: the organization of behavior: each part of your brain does a specific task. There"s a strong correlation with the function of your brain and your behavior. Biopsychology = the product of interactions among 3 factors. Evolution has produced you; dna, genes, a program that runs by those who gave birth to you. Nature vs nurture: nurture allows the program to run. Human subjects - what we want to study such as our brain. Report: they can tell how they feel & their internal experiences. Pros: controlled (control the experiences, setup, genetics, etc) Simpler brains (less complicated than humans but they aren"t humans)
