Results in better understanding and dealing with emotions in kids. Teaches self-control, and self-regulation for kids who are disadvantaged, children live below poverty line and deal with struggling parents. Teacher roles help cultivate autonomy and relationships. Transition between schools can be hard; big fish in small pond vs small fish in big pond, from middle school to high school, or elementary to middle school. School- family links: family being engaged and involved help children. We"re going to look at how children use media and how much time is spent on this. 40% of infants get one hour of tv screen time in a day. Young children are interacting with different screen media more.
