Judgment about what is good or bad behavior. Behaviors are good or bad in situations that require ethical decisions. Children show little concern or awareness for rules. More interested in exploration and figuring out how things work. Concern about rules that come from some form of authority. Rules are viewed as unchanging and shouldn"t be questioned. Social rules are viewed as arbitrary agreements that can be questioned or challenged. Violations of rules are not always wrong or inevitably punished. Considers another person"s feelings and perspective when judging the behavior of others. Underestimates children"s abilities to understand rules and intentions. Heinz needs an expensive drug to help his dying wife. Pharmacist who discovered this controls supply of the drug. He refuses heinz offer to give him all the money he has - because it"s only half of the price, and he"s not willing to wait for later payment.
