The heat released from this condensation is 53 quintillion joules per day of ene. There"s a tremendous amount of condensation in a hurricane. Condensation is the energy source and evaporation provides the fuel. The strong winds in hurricanes causes more evaporation from the ocean surfac. Also evaporation can occur more easily from a warmer ocean. Hurricanes weaken as they pass over land due to lack of evaporation. Sea surface temp mist be above 26 c. This should shift warmer temperature thresholds in a warmer climate though. Must be at least 5 degrees off the equator.
