Ask client to behave in a manner opposite to the way he/she feels. Fundamental thought- disorders result from counterproductive habits of thought. Therapy rationale- get client to eliminate bad habits of thought. Change habits of thinking or behavior that have a negative impact on the client"s life. Closely related- dialectical behavioral therapy (dbt)- introduced by uw psych professor. Marsha linehan, currently one of the most popular approaches to therapy.
