Influence: what values are transmitted, what rituals are performed, the cargas and regalos/gifts and burdens that children receive from the family. Cultural influences: reflect the mestizaje of indigenous, african, european and other influences. In the us context, cultural hybridity may be the norm, due to exposure to us dominant cultures, as well as other cultures depending on the regions: and on structural integration, and acculturation or lack thereof. Likewise, the family culture, practices and values will also guide the socialization of children and parenting practices of the home: child development also is influences by exposure to and expectations form the larger social milieu.
