Firearm specialists have gone back and forth throughout history throughout scientists vs. nonscientists (law enforcement people instead) Work is currently going on to redefine and reestablish standards for firearm id. There is not currently a set standard for analysis -- experts could potentially inset their own bias into firearm id. 9/11: terrorist attack on twin towers in nyc, and pentagon in dc. A week later, letters with anthrax were sent to two d senators and the head of. Those letters went through the usps sorting station in suburbs around. Dc, so everyone living there was very scared that anthrax got out and contaminated their mail. A year later, 10/2/2002 (until 10/22) sniper attacks began happening (seemingly randomly) from central park, virginia, up to baltimore. Bullets were analyzed, they all matched so it was coming from the same person, and that person was using a rifle.
