Emergence of black feminism was not the same as what emerged for white radical or liberal feminists. Late 1960s record number of black women graduating from high schools and colleges: writings. Once these women start to move, they enter a world that provides access to getting their ideas out there, new audiences. Many of them became feminists through their involvement in civil rights and black power movements. The sexism they experienced was different than that of white women.
